Default So Cal Tomatomania/Tomatozill and more

Just got an email from the folks at Tomatomania. It's a travelling tomato sale featurning hundreds of varieties. I've been to it a few times and it's a great source for hard to find tomato seedlings.

Here's a blurb from their website:

Tomatomania! is a huge community of enthusiastic tomato lovers and the world’s largest (and most fun) tomato seedling sale! It’s what the New York Times called, “the tomato freaks’ Woodstock,” and if you’re crazy about tomatoes, this is the place for you!

Here's locations and links.

Tomatomania Events page https://tomatomania.com/events/

Roger’s Gardens, Feb 26 - March 7 https://tomatomania.com/rogers-gardens/

Fig Earth Supply, March 5-7 https://tomatomania.com/fig-earth-su...k-los-angeles/

Otto & Sons, March 12/13 https://tomatomania.com/otto-and-sons-filmore/

Mission Hills Nursery, March 13/14 https://tomatomania.com/mission-hill...ery-san-diego/

Tapia Bros. Farm Stand, March 19-21 https://tomatomania.com/tapia-brothe...-stand-encino/

They are in the process of firming up appearances at Descanso Gardens April 9-11 as well as Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark and Seaside Gardens in Carpinteria

Tomatozilla at Cal Poly Pomona

Cal Poly Pomona is on for Mar 13-15 on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona in the Greenhouse, next to the Farm Store. They do list the tomatoes they will have, but whoever put it together used the Reddit 'wall of text' for their list. I was at their sale 2 years ago and when I got home I discovered that not all the plants were labelled. Be aware.

Fullerton College's Horticultural Department (in Orange County) https://horticulture.fullcoll.edu/index.shtml for thriving and inexpensive tomato seedlings.

In the south bay area of Los Angeles, Laurel https://www.heirloomtomatoplants.com/Plant%20Sale.htm will grow and ship varieties to order, but also holds Sunday afternoon drop-in sales in March and April (except Easter).
