Default eggplant that does not need full sun?

Our garden deos nto get full sunlight and that is why we did not get too good a yield with eggplants Any ideas?

Try the fairytale variety and grow it in a 5 gallon bucket. That way you can put it in the sun. Just thinking outloud here.

I've got some Siberian eggplant varieties like Skorospelyi, Vera, Yaponskiy Karlik ("Japanese Dwarf" in English) and Vikar which ripe about 2 weeks earlier than standard eggplants and used to tolerant semi-shadow and short growing season. Almaz (Ukrainian CV) and Patsekha (our Belarusian CV) are almost in the same league, but mid-early...
