Default Ooops ~

Hope everyones having a great
season, or have just had one ~

I like to "shake" my tom cages
to get pollen moving around -
When I was walking by my Mortgage Lifter,
I accidently snapped off a branch that had
flowers on it ...
I made a clean cut and placed in a cup of water ~

Can this plant produce tomatoes ?
The flowers are open now, it has roots,
and I've "flicked" to
see what happens >

Has any tried this ?

Oh yeah, it will grow and prosper. This is time of year to take 6 inch cuttings from your existing plants and start a fall harvest.

Tom,

I just took several cuttings from various plants around the garden to hopefully root and give to my girlfriend's grandmother.

Some had flowers others not, but all are sitting in cups of water getting indirect light from the kitchen window. \

After 4-5 days in the water, I plan to dip the cuttings in roottone and plant in Jiffy Mix. I have heard that rooting powder is not necessary, but I figure it might help my chances.

Good luck!

I am envious that you are able to have a fall crop - cuttings, rootings, etc. Up here you have just one chance & season - get them in right after last frost, hope that the first fall frost doesn't come early. If you have any problems, then you have to wait until next year. I often think that it would be so cool to live somewhere warmer where the gardening season is not so defined... maybe when I retire!
