Ready for pickin?

Didn't want to hi-jack the previous thread on this subject. Seeing how its sustained in the mid 90s during the day, my fat tomatoes don't seem to be ripening. I mean some are but really, really slowly. Mainly the smaller ones. These are Old Germans and for me are my prize tomatoes thus far and I'd hate to muck things up by picking them too green...give it more time or pick away?

Patience. I know its tough but wait it out at least for a blush. Never know they could get bigger.

The color break indication for picking is on the blossom end of the fruit. Can't tell anything by looking at the top of the fruit.

I don't see a color break, on the pictures either.
CB has to be obvious to detect at a distance, to me.

I guess I don't understand why, based on those photos, you'd think they were even close to picking. There sure isn't anything in the photos that would indicate that. So what am I missing here? Is there in fact color break visible on the bottom of the them (blossom end) that isn't shown in the photos?

Reminds me of Xmas time as a kid and seeing presents under the tree on the 18th of December!

My biggest tomato is golf ball sized and a month away from picking..

Tomatoes reach full size long before they start to break.

They reached full size and were green as grass...then they turned a light, buff color starting from the bottom up. Perhaps the pictures don't convey that.

The color you want to look for at the blossom end is whatever the final color of the ripe tomato will be. I know I get a little over anxious when mine start turning that lighter shade because I know the real blushing will be showing itself soon!
