Question regarding the pea fence use on Earthtainer III
As I was preparing to make the bends on the pea fence, I noticed that the leg lengths were very inconsistent (from 31 1/4" to over 32 1/4"). It seems that this would make an unstable support. Should I cut each leg to the same length?

Steve,
I have observed minor variation in the cage leg lengths, but not anywhere near 1 inch of difference as you have measured. I am sure it is an error in manufacturing. Just cut off the extra length of that one leg, then make the bends so the first bend that rests on the top of the EarthTainer is consistent. Raybo |

Thanks, that's what I figured. Both fences in the box are the same, so I wondered if it was normal.

Of the 4 I bought and built this year, one of them had a leg that was much longer than the others, like you mention. Hack sawed it off and all was well. None of them had very consistent lengths, but it didn't seem to matter when assembled. I think there is enough tolerance in the design and enough adjustments by hand when it is all in place to really snug things up, that the differences don't end up mattering. That was my experience anyway.
