Default Beetles on Eggplant

Some sort of beetles have really gone after my eggplants this year. It's the first time I've had this particular insect. They're a very pale color, light gray or whitish with black spots on the side, and very curved back. Anybody know what these things might be?

Holly,

This summer I had some type of beetle on mine as well. Two either dark brown or black smaller bugs huddled together eating away the leaves. Once I got rid of them, no more giant holes in my leaves. Hopefully you found everything as well...Mine did alot of damage...

My typical problem insect on eggplant are flea beetles...you don't want to get them. But Omaha, it sounds like you had them...small and black fits the description perfectly. I recommend a Napalm airdrop to control them...

I have a big patch of flowering flat parsley underneath my eggplants that reseeds itself. I can't get over the hover flies and predatory wasps on that parsley! I've never had flea beetles on the eggplants don't know if they're common in AZ, although I suspect I've had them on my radish, turnip and mustard greens.
