A welcome sight
I thought I'd share this picture of a Lady Beetle at work in my garden. There's tons of them this year.
I've never had problems with aphids here, they always go after the weeds (this is a dandelion) and leave my veggies alone.

Is it wrong to be so thrilled by the sight of one living thing eating another?

Think about the carnage created when you have a cup of yogurt. No, it's not wrong. It's the rules of the game when you live at the top of the food chain. Aphids eat plants. Ladybugs eat aphids.
Personally, I'm quite fond of smoked ribs.

Me too!!
I always find the emotional reactions some have to the way various parts of the food chain work to be pretty shallow. |

I'll see your ladybugs and raise you hundred baby spiders.

It never gets old to see some natural helpful predators at play.
Whomever said that these sights are shallow does not see it for what it really is: A miracle of nature at play. And understanding it does not take a bit from its glory and beauty. |

BTW, I hand carried 3 more LB's to this plant this morning. The dandelion is completely aphid free now. Man, Lady beetles are great!

I need to get some decent pics of the lizards hunting in the garden. My camera on the phone cant zoom in close enough. But they get plenty to eat.
