Potting up peppers

So I start my pepper seeds fairly densely and then thin by potting up. In the past I've used 4" square plastic containers--the same I use for my tomatoes. I'm wondering if this is overkill for peppers? Should I just use my deep cell 4-packs? My peppers (Yummy, King of the North, and Serrano) are just getting first true leaves and are usually planted out ~May 20. I grow them relatively cool so they don't grow overly fast. Any comments?

It's not overkill, I like to give the roots more room to stretch out. I usually have to pot some extras up in six packs just because I have no room to stretch out.

Eight Sweet Red Bell pepper plants were purchased in flats and repotted. These will be placed in the outdoor garden at the end of May. Experience has indicated that the plants produce earlier and become more prolific with this treatment. Expectation is a bushel or more.

4" square pots it is. That has been successful for me in the past, just seeing what others thought if it was overkill. Maybe as an experiment I'll transplant 2 of my 9 Yummy Peppers into the deep cells and the rest into 4" pots and note the differences over the season.
