Pink bugs

Hello all,

I first saw these on my arm, and then on my hot pepper plants. They are all over the pepper plants on my balcony. A tiny few of them seem to have migrated to the next container containing basil and Italian parsley. None yet one the other plants.

I'm going to bleach spray and wait till I here some recommendations from you all!

Looks like aphids to me. Definitely need to get rid of them.

You don't need bleach spray if that is what you really meant to say. Keep spraying them off with a strong spray of water and maybe a mild insecticide if the water doesn't work.

Insecticidal soap works well. So do ladybugs.

Thanks all. I sprayed insecticidal soap twice, two days apart, and it seems to have done the trick. There are still some hanging around, but much better. And thank God they seemed to have no appetite for anything except the peppers.

I usually get the green aphids, sometimes black ones but this year I also got pink ones for the first time. Strange. Fortunately, it seems that they all respond to the same kinds of controls!

You may think they are all gone but check underneath the leaves. They are terribly hard to get rid of on young pepper plants. I ended up having to use Permethrin to finally get them under control.
