After returning home from a trip to Canada's maritime provinces - Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island. I harvested these beauties. Of course the weather is cooler and night temps are in the 40's F, so they taste like refrigerated tomatoes; but they still are better than store bought. If the weather forecast is correct, I should be getting tomatoes on into November which in not common in this area.

You have some lovely beauties in that mix Greg. All new to you? How did the rest of your season go with the extended forecast? Any winners that will be brought back for 2016?

I would love to hear more about your trip into Canada. What beautiful places too visit.

I started out with 110 plants, but by this late in the season probably had only about 60 still producing. I lost about 30 varieties midseason due to some type of wilt.

You are correct that Dr. Lyle is in there. The elongated ones are Idaho Hillbilly.

Brings back fond memories of the days I used to grow over 100 plants. These days I usually only grow 10-12 different varieties. That is what happens when we reach our golden years.

I missed this thread first time around--nice late season haul! I just received seeds for Idaho Hillbilly in the MMMM swap and I wasn't able to come up with a lot info about it. Care to share your thoughts on it?

If I had space and time enough I would not hesitate to grow any of these varieties again.

Having said that I would say that Duggin Gold was my biggest surprise; great flavor. Da Chilo is another great one and I was impressed by Market Fresh+.

Cherokee Purple and its "off springs" Purple Elgin and Not Purple Strawberry are very similar tomatoes.

Zeke Dishman and Vinson Watts are definite winners also.
