Chris, nice looking plants ! When did you start your peppers?? I lost track of time and got a late start on mine, just started the first of April, do you think I'll have enough time to get a decent crop?

Do you attend the DATE ?

nice set up you have there chris. looks like you are a week or 2 ahead of my plants. i have about a hundred pepper plants which is more than i'm going to need, already transplanted. tomatos are almost ready to transplant.
where are you in the great lake state?

Steve, I have never attended DATE, but I may this year. I should have lots of extra plants and i'm not sure I'm going to be able to pawn them off to friends, family, etc. lol. Many I will, but not all.

I thought I was going to lose a lot of plants to aphids this year, but I imported ladybugs that solved the issue. I resowed things to protect myself, but now they are all doing well. lol. No complaints there.

I stagger sowing date on peppers as I grow different species. C. Pubescens and C. Chinense I like to start late Jan / mid-February, BUT they would be OK late Feb/early March. Working on a short season in MI so I hedge my bets and put out bigger plants.

If you're growing C. Annuums, you should be able to start them now and plant them by late June and be fine. The fruits will mature by September. Some of the stuff I grow such as wild capsicums are impossible to get away with this approach.

Keith, I live about 20 miles outside of Detroit.
