Guess I should share this with my tomato friends..
http://www.growingagreenerworld.com/...epic-tomatoes/
Pretty busy/harrowing sessions last summer when this was shot - knew it was coming for months...relieved it is "out there"....now need to crawl back into my driveway and get my hands dirty! Working with Joe Lamp'l was really fun -- great guy.

Great job Craig! I'm sure that was quite nerve-racking, but in my opinion came out beautifully.
What a great thing from so many perspectives. Extremely detailed and informative compared to the typical gardening piece for the masses, but also a wonderfully produced heirloom of your efforts for you and your family and friends. Enjoyed it very much. |

Thank you so much, JohnJones. This whole thing has been a most extraordinary journey...since coaching/sharing/teaching is where my passion lies (getting more people to garden), it is pretty gratifying. My dislike of publicity and attention in general is where the adjustment lies.
Never sure what is coming next, but for the most part, enjoying the ride very much.

Thanks all - not really about the books (royalties - bleech!) - about future books, but mostly, about securing more speaking engagements in the years ahead. That's (to me) where the fun is (as well as growing tomatoes of course!)

Bravo. Well done and nicely edited. (wondered how many times they visited to get your
methods to make sense). So many times that is not covered clearly. Congrats! |

The show was filmed over three long visits to film, three different parts of the season, 2-3 days each - lots of reshoots, different angles, various interruptions due to ambient noise - all a fascinating process. I would say 40-50 hours of film whittled down to 20 minutes. Better them than me - made me realize that doing video would never be for me....podcast maybe - but not video!
again, thanks all.

Craig, I loved the video. Well done and very informative. I can honestly say it's the best
I have seen. Thank you for posting it here, as I likely would have never seen it otherwise. |

What was that yellow and red striped tomato they kept zooming in on? Was it Lithium Sunset?

I think it was one in Brie's garden - timing of the taping meant a mix of tomatoes from my, Brie's and Joe's gardens. One of the significant issues of this type of show is timing - same thing happened when the photography of my book was going on - no way to "demand" certain tomatoes were ripening when needed - much shipping of ripe fruit from here to the Storey studios!
