This was my first year growing eggplants, and I am SO growing more next year! Just two black beauty plants this year, but already have some seeds for next year. Gonna try Rosita, Early Long Purple, and a white eggplant seed pack my mom brought back from Monticello, thinking about adding a few more too :-)

Your eggplants are looking good. You are from Phillipines. I have a lot
of Filipino co-workers. They introduced me to the Bitter Melon, which I grow now. I give them my extra eggplant seedlings in spring. Their favorite is the Thai Green. Reminds them of one that grows in Phillipines. |

Thanks. currently they are being attacked by lots of caterpillars. I don't want to use pesticides as of this moment because there are some fruit that I'll be harvesting soon so I'm just removing them one by one..
Cool. So I guess you already tried adobo. I grew eggplants better than tomatoes maybe because they are more hardy than toms. You should try growing other of our veggies especially the winged bean. Last edited by pinakbet; August 26, 2010 at 10:51 PM. |

Yes, adobo is delicious. So is Pancit and Lumpia
I also love the Cassava Cake, but so rich, you can eat it once in a while. I may try the winged bean, have never tried it before.. I think you have better luck with eggplants because they are heat lovers. They do very well here, even with the humidity. |
