On the dock at our cabin
Noir de Crimee on the left. Mr. Stripey on the right. My first time trying to grow tom's at the cabin. The only spot that gets full sun all day. Due to run-off, I've only used fish emulsion once for fertilizer. There is a water bucket in the lake. My neighbor's are happy to come by in their boats to water for me when we are not there....in hopes of nabbing a few tom's along the way. When we are sitting on the dock, the neighb's joke about us 'sitting in the garden'. The cheapy tomato cages work well in the cedar container's. They are also wired in. ...yeah, I pull them away from the tiki torches when I light them.

Thats a great idea! I can just see it next year there will just be a path up the middle, and potted tomatoes as far as the eye can see. You could get a whole garden out there.

Bully, we are about 12 miles S. of Houghton Lake just inside Clare County. Here's a winter pic of our peninsula just after sunrise... Don't believe glorious things that you hear about log cabins (especially old one's like ours). They are cold and drafty, there is a ton of maintenance that has to be done to them constantly. Did I mention the bats?
