Default WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE!

Here is a resent mug shot of my new plant killer.
She hasn’t killed lately but you know what they say, once they’ve had a taste they never go back.

No really she is a darling kitty we rescued from the animal shelter.
Just don’t let those good looks and innocent face fool you.
Here she is, if you see her lock up your tomato plants.
She goes by the name of Smokey.

I'm sure the governor would give that adorable face a pardon. Let her live!!

My cat (Alcyon) sleeps under tomato plants, but has never attacked one. Lizards, yes, Mockingbirds, oh yes, but not a tomato plant!

She looks just like my sweet Tabitha did... may she R.I.P. She was also a rescue kitty; loved to dance and was a mighty hunter. The only plant she ever killed was a huge clump of catnip - even grubbed up all the roots!

Perhaps she will age as well as our Violet (going on 8,) who loves to garden with us. Every morning as we set out to head up the hill dragging hoes and buckets Miss Vi trots along with us, waddling a bit as she is no longer the svelte kitty she once was. She does not eat the tomatoes though. Hunts bugs, keeps other critters out of HER garden, perhaps nibbles a lettuce leaf and just lays around in the sunshine till we head back down the hill. Kind of cute really.

That's the CAT I need. We are having a rat problem Again. The neighborhood cats are on strike. Here is a funny story. A white cat landed in my backyard, I fed him and took care of him. He was an outdoor cat. Mine are indoor only. I had my petsitter make sure he was well taken care of when I was away, did this for 4 years. One day, he must have gotten in a fight and hurt his paw, I took him to the vet. He got the whole works that day. Doctor ask me what's his name so I thought Tom the Tom Cat. I had fixed him before this. Then one day my neighbor behind me were talking, I told her my cat was missing. So I climb up so I could see her to talk to her and I see Tom the Tomcat. I tell her There's my CAT. She looks around and has a bewildered look. Then looks at Tom. No, that is Cosmo, my cat. So he was found out that day, he was Two Timing my neighbor Kathy and I.

He still comes by and I feed him and he plays with me but I told my neighbor that I am firing his a** because there is a rat problem.

Hah, that is funny. See the cat conning food from both of you, no wonder Cosmo wont go after any rats, he must be always full of cat food. You have to feed them a little in the morning then leave them be so they will go hunt in the evening

The cat in the picture, her name is gypsy. She is pure woman. If you try to pet her, she snips at you with her paw and bites. But if you quickly pet her before she notices, she will put up with it and likes it until you pull your hand away, than her attitude is back and she goes after your retreating hand. It's like she doesn't want you or anyone else to think that you can pet her without her saying its ok. She has some character.

I though I would post an update on the tomato killer.

She has stopped killing tomato plants and is now converted to Killing mice and rats.

She has brought several to the house as gifts for us.8)

Didn't I see a few recipes you had posted to prepare these gifts?

betsylt,

I am at home in Texas now,you will notice I don't post much when I am in Alaska as the days are long and the nights are short.

I just looked, you must work on the pipe line, pump stations or something.

dcarch,

I just found a mouse head on the porch I wonder how many mouse heads it takes to make mouse head cheese.

My cat that adopted me several years ago thinks all of my raised beds or her private kitty box. Remedy is spend all day on the table saw cutting 1x6 into strips and laying them across the beds every 6 inches. My silly cat also brings home gifts. Never know what I’ll get day by day. Nothing like a big bowl of gopher gravy and kitty cat slobber.
