My Aussie Season Up And Running
We planted 30 tomato plants in this bed and have high hopes with these plants. We're currently in the middle of three nights of frosts, but covering where needed.
Our 2022/23 Season is off to a good start, hopefully. |

Good to see Mate . Mines near done n dusted except for a couple of Romas otherwise everything is ripening all at once and haven enough mouths to polish all the fruit off lol..
Wasnt going to have a crop this winter but after Tomatos and Cukes hit an all time high pricewise i was ordered to get in and PLANT!! .. Started aprox in April which is a tad late for me here but did so..Long winter and firt time plants in the ground near six months with fruit just starting to ripen?? , and as warmer weather hit all want to ripen at once. Longest Tomato season ive ever had ey two main types planted . Mt Athos Polaris one plant of Orange stripes shot up from last years fallen fruit with four Tomatos on the Bush and some Bunnings Romas.. Lots of scarfacing this year on fruits but taste is near there..Good to see how yours go ey..

Good to see you had a good Winter season there Volvo. Our Winter was quite cold for seedlings, but I managed nearly 200 plants for a September Seedling Sale, with lots of varieties not grown by anyone who came.
My tomatoes this year are half new varieties and half my regulars with seven plants of my now F3 cross which I named Macalister. Originally a very tasty yellow, I was lucky enough to also get a very tasty pink last year, so growing both this season. The rest are new for me varieties, thanks to a friend or two. |

Today I started bagging blossoms on my tomato plants, with the plant on left of shot by far my best grower. This is one I named Village Red, which is a sport from when I grew Casey's Pure Yellow, in 2008. I'm growing six of these plants this season as I have high hopes for them.

Looking good Mcsee.
Running quite a bit later here is partly due to being away over school holidays and partly due to the weather. Very wet under foot and yet only two days ago we had frost on car windows. Glad tomatoes were not in the ground for that one. Still fixing up this years tomato beds in between rain. |

Thanks - Yes, we took the covers off this morning after two cold nights. Some decent weather now would be nice.
