Bloosqualls Farm, Travis Weedman RIP

I am very sorry to report that Travis Weedman, owner of Bloosqualls Garlic Farm in Waitsburg, WA, passed away on April 6th. Travis has been fighting brain cancer since last September. He was 42.

I visited Bloosqualls Farm in September, shortly before his diagnosis, and had a pleasant lunch with him and his wife Shelly. I know many of you have purchased garlic from Travis, and he participated on this forum. "Bloo" will be missed.

Thanks for letting us know, Tom. I also had purchased some garlic last year from Travis and he seemed to be a straightforward kind of guy. I knew he had brain cancer from a post here, and was checking to see what had transpired. Unfortunately, I had no other way to find out, and his website was not being updated, understandably.

Brain cancer is a really tough thing to hold at bay. If there's one disease I fear, it is cancer.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family.

Tom, yes, thanks for posting. Travis was a great guy. Much too young to pass, but death knows no age. I have to believe the great one above needed a great garlic farmer.

I'm sorry to hear this news, Tom. I never had the opportunity to order from Travis, but I know he had many devoted customers and friends in the gardening community. I'm sure he will be missed.

thanks for the update tom. i have wondered how he was doing. i don't know anyone that has survived brain cancer.

his garlic cloves i told you about (if you remember the story) are coming up fine which is a good sign. i guess i won't be able to reply to that email he sent to me that i kept in case they did do ok.

I had no idea. I'm so sorry to hear it. I have a bed full of his garlic growing strong right now. He was so helpful last year helping me decided how much and what to order and sent me some beautiful, healthy bulbs.
