Anyone know anything about Wave Petunias?

they are promoting them all over. Has anyone had any experience with them? Are they better than other petunias?

We have 4 in a window box on the deck and they got huge and hung way down on the deck rail, then the summer heat set in and pretty much all the window boxes and hanging baskets went downhill but they were very pretty in their glory. Not sure if I have pics from last year or not I will check in the next couple of days and post if I have some.

IMO, they are WAY better than ordinary petunias because they never need to be pinched back. They don't get that awful leggy look as they grow. They have a fuller shape that sort of cascades across a bed or down from a basket. They come out with new colors every year. Try some!

Have four in hanging baskets on the porch for about a month now and I'm pretty impressed. Growing quickly and loads of color.

I just had three plants of Silver Wave's sent and that's a big hurdle for me b'c basically I hate petunias.

My maternal grandparents owned the largest nursery and farm stand in the tri-city area of Albany/Schenectady/Troy for many years and I worked there summertimes during HS which is where I learned so very much about annuals and perennials. And, ahem, petunias.

But I can't stand the smell of them.

However, I need something for a specifci pot that sits at the end of the deck and the dahlia's that were planted last year, short ones, weren't that successful. And hearing good comments about the waves I said Carolyn, why not shed your negative biasis and at least try these new ones.

So I am.

I bought several flats based on what you guys said. I'll report back in the future.

One question: If I don't get full sun can I still grow them?

I think any petunia blooms pretty well even in part sun. I bet it'll be fine.
