Default vegetable spaghetti oddity

Planted these for the first time in many years and forgot how they almost take over. The fruit sets lt green w/ slight stripes turning whitish to cream HOWEVER I found this green fruit - green like an immature pumpkin - I followed the end of the vine back to a white fruit and then this green guy just to make sure. What's up with the dark green fruit? It is only green one so far but I haven't waded into the squash patch - simply too dense with vines, etc. Piegirl
