Can pelletized lime be used instead of dolomite?

Last year I used a small bag of domomite (Espoma) from Lowes. I guess it did what it was supposed to because my tomatoes didn't have any issues. The only problem is it's a small bag and fairly expensive for multiple containers. I can get a 40lb bag of pelletized lime for about the same price.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't go with the cheaper, larger bag for tomatoes in containers?

Pelletized dolomite lime is the same stuff. It's just powdered dolomite made into pellets for use in spreaders. As soon as those pellets hit water they fall right apart.

I should have been more specific in my post. The pelletized lime doesn't say dolomite anywhere on the bag.

This is what you can find for $4.90 for a 40 lb bag at Home Depot. I think its fine.

The Signature Series brand limestone is by MK Minerals, that's Calcitic limestone.
Very low in Magnesium so that's not Dolomite.

Calcium (Ca) 33.0%
Magnesium (Mg) 0.7%

The Soil Doctor brand is Dolomite, equivalent to Espoma Garden Lime. I have some of that myself also
