Default Eggplant varieties from Romania

I'm hoping to locate at least one Romanian variety of eggplant for my tomatophile friend with Romanian roots here in Canada. She claims that Romanian eggplant has a unique flavour and texture. (She's a farmer and a chef, so I believe her claims.). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Unfortunately, I don't have Romanian eggplant varieties, but I have got one good Moldovan eggplant called Veratik. As far as Moldovans and Romanians have the same roots and use almost the same language your friend could be interested in this variety.
As for unique flavour and texture I believe they are more about Bulgarian eggplant varieties. Many old Soviet eggplant varieties were originally selected from Bulgarian samples...

I will research eggplant in BG this year and let you know what is about.
RESEARCH? That's a bit posh. I will see what I can find out.
