early grape lines
I am a little later than normal this year, but today harvest ripe fruit of two new grape lines. The red one is a F3 plant from Wagner's Matt's Folly. The purple w/ grn stripes is from a F5 plant from a cross with the commercial hybrid Chocolitos. Flavor is OK on the first, and outstanding on the latter.

Are you defining "grape" by shape alone, or are there other criteria?

You are getting some nice variation - and that is a good size for salads. I have one blue cross with my Ambrosia Giant that shows some striping. I have no idea why. It's not as bold as yours. I'm calling this other yellow line bumblebees for obvious reasons.
Your Indigo Tigers are serious producers. Brix 6.5-7.0 - it is still early. Lee |
