Default ugly ripe?

The food store had heirloom tomatoes for sale,in the ugly ripe section they had a yellow tomato that looks like an ugly ripe but it is yellow with a hint of red on the bottom.
I thought ugly ripe were only red?
It rang up as an ugly ripe and I got it for the seeds.

Nah. I've seen ugly red, green, orange, yellow, and black (or blue in tomato jargon?). Some were meh. Some were outstanding.

I have grown Ugly Ripe (red) off and on over the years. Always found it tasty.

Here is the background info. A lady in FL had a website where she was offering a family heirloom from Italy, a large RED beefsteak. She was bought out in a nasty takeover by the Procacci bros, who crossed it with Marmande, an old French heirloom and changed the name to Ugly Ripe.

You'll also see in the following link how the Procacci Bros in another nasty takeover shut down Andrew Chu who was the first to offer seeds for Santa hybrid seeds he got from Taiwan and they renamed that one Santa Sweets..

Here's the link and if you have any questions please just ask since I knew Andrew Chu very well.

Aha,I forgot to say that when the procaccis took out Andrew they banned sales of all Santa F1's in the US and Linda at TGS was the last to be able to offer them. But Andrew was still able to get some seeds in Europe where sales were not banned.

The tomato I got actually just had a heirloom label on it and isn't really the ugly it was just mixed in with the ugly. The label says heirloom from canada so it isn't from florida.
I tried Marmande last year but it didn't do very well here.
