Germination Problems
I planted my tomato seedlings about a week and a half ago. I planted them in peat pods with three seeds in each pod. Each of my seven varieties had three pods. All of them have germinated except for one variety: Blue Ridge Mountain. I obtained these from a different seed company than the rest of them. I dug up one of the seeds and it has signs a germination. I am going to reseed but I was wondering if there is anything I can do differently. Should I soak them in water overnight?

howdy, YJ....from a Dawg, also in N. Georgia...)))
If you have more BR Mountain seed to work with, then try the ol pepper-sproutin method. Place em on a strip of damp paper towel, inside a ziploc bag. Then throw em outta sight for a week, in a drawer. After a week, start checkin. Start lookin for the tiny little white tentacle to extend from the seed. After you see that, take a pair of scissors and cut that segment out, of the strip, and sew it in a cell. If ya dont see it, after a week, re-introduce air to the bag, every day, but reclose it, an keep ya Fingers an Toes crossed...))) Old seed can take a while to come to life, so...dont tamper with the BR Mountains in the original cell no more, jus try an provide optimum sprout conditions. I tell you this, an i'm sittin here goin on my last straw, to a Russian 117 up...lol. I know how it feels...))) Best Wishes, Gimme
