Good bugs:
A couple days ago I noticed aphids on my eggplant.
I'm gonna leave them, with the discovery of my new found good bug: ~ Tom

You are a very patriatic eggplant grower.
Do you always put a flag next to your plants? dcarch

lol Dcarch ~
It was left in the pot from Memorial Day - We had a party and have some "vets" in the fam ... Anywho, when I woke up this morning, that ladybug had already moved to another part of the eggplant and has started muching on those aphids. Thats one thing I can say about my yard: the lady bugs sure like to vacation there ~ lol Tom

Wait until they start hatching some larva. I had aphids in my roses last year. Two or three days after I saw one ladybug larva, they were gone.
Two years ago, the lady bugs were very thick in my yard. Unfortunatly, they have built up the houses behind us and the open field is gone. I haven't seen near as many since then. They are wonderful to have around. |

I saw a lady bug in my garden yesterday and nearly danced for joy. The creepy crawlies are making a mess of my plants this year. It's pretty sad when you have to fight tooth and nail just to get a little of your own food!

I live in the middle of suburbia and neighbors are realtively close,
but for some reason, ladybugs stop at my pool every year for a drink! I rescued a "floater" ladybug in my pool yesterday and placed him on the eggplant as well. Well, he woke up quick, and immediately went down to the ahpid "eating center" ~ lol Now I have 2 resident "good bugs" doin my work ! Best part ? They love doin it too ! ~ Tom
