Seed order update
I just wanted to post an update for anyone that has ordered seeds from me for the last 3 months or so.
First, since we grow ALL the seeds we sell, we need workers to help. Since the seeds don't bring in enough money to pay for them we also grow stuff for farmers markets to have the money. But that means we can be very busy during the summer. Especially if we are shorthanded. Last year we had 1 full timer and 4 or 5 part timers. This year we've only had 2 mostly full timers and 1 guy that shows up now and then. We haven't seen him in 3 weeks now. But even worse is the fact that I was klutzy last week and tripped and fell hard in the garage. I hit a bucket and cut my lip - 3 stitches. I also hit my arm hard on the concrete floor and shattered the wrist. Just had surgery on Tues to put in a plate to put it back together. Pic is from the morning after the ER visit I look and feel somewhat better now. When 1 of my ladies has some time from the farm work we will work om orders but I'm not sure when that will be. Thanks everyone for understanding, Carol Knapp's Fresh Vegies |

Carol, hoping you are starting to feel better now. That must have been a bit scary and painful with breaking your wrist so badly.
Please do take care. |

My heart goes out to you. Prayers for a speedy recovery. It hurts just thinking about falling and shattering your wrist. Keep safe and rest.

Sorry to hear about your wrist; I broke mine in the garden in 2015 and no fun. Hopefully, you will glide through therapy and recover quickly.

I get very nervous when I see someone in a hospital bed, as I'm sure anyone would.
On a brighter note Carol,I hope you heal up just fine, get released soon and can recuperate at home with someone cooking for you, someone cleaning for you, shopping for you;personal maid service. Carolyn

The surgery went well and I do feel somewhat better. I haven't needed the strong pills RXd. Just Advil and an ice pack for the most part. But I have been trying to do a bit too much at times and can really "feel" it today. Will do nothing much for a few days.
Thanks for all the well wishes, Carol |

I want to report that thanks to my helper, I finally am caught up on all orders except for 2 that came in Sun.About 1/2 went out over a week ago and should be there. The rest went out this Mon. and should be there in a couple of days.
Now I'm slowly working on germination tests for the seeds collected this year. I have another Dr visit tomorrow and hope it's healing the way it's supposed to. I'm ready to be out of this splint so I can finally take a decent shower. Using a "cast sleeve" isn't working so well but is better than nothing. Will most likely be getting PT too as I don't have much movement in that wrist right now. |
