Chocolate Cake
I recently purchased seeds for a chocolate colored bell pepper called Chocolate Cake. I've grown and love the flavor of the Sweet Chocolate aka Choco pepper but I'm searching for one with a similar flavor profile but larger with thicker walls. Has anyone grown this variety and if so what is your opinion of it? This is a photo of it from the seed source.

Is the picture of the chocolate cake pepper or a different variety? You want thicker walls than that??? Might be because I’m in the north, but I don’t think they get thicker than that!

Hard to tell the scale in that photo, without knowing the size of the plate... but Chocolate Bell should be both larger & thicker-walled. Much thicker than Sweet Chocolate, which I don't really consider to be a bell pepper due to the thinness of its walls.

The picture is of Chocolate Cake taken from the seed source, Sow True Seeds. Yes, it appears to be thick walled hence my giving it a try next year. Hoping it lives up to the site's description.

Every time I see this thread pop up I forget it is about a confounded pepper and it makes me hungry for chocolate cake or some other sweet thing.
What a horrible name for a pepper. Worth |
