Hey Earl I was wondering if you would care to elaborate on why someone would not grow it for the taste. I like the appearence of this tomato so would like some more information on its taste. I know most whites are bland but is there any other reason you would suggest giving this variety a pass?

(P.S. Andrey or Tom feel free to throw in your 2 cents! )

I can't speak for the other tomato,
but I CAN say, the Yellow one I'm growing
will blow alot of reds out of the water ...
More people will be growing it
this year than ever, and will
back my "taste buds" ~

I just had my first white tomato last night and it was incredible....I wouldn't have imagined a white could taste so good....It was a White Bush and is not commonly available but it sure should be. The texture was good and meaty, not real mild and a sweet finish. Production has been slow and sparse, but I am trying it again.

The taste was good indeed and not so mild. Even a good balance of sweetness and tartness. But I didn't leave the fruits to lay for almost yellow color - eat and save seeds while having these nice creamy white hearts :wink:

I grew White Oxheart last year. Nice big hefty fruit, no taste that came through to my tastebuds. If you tasted what I grew in my garden and though it tasted good/great, then you'd need your tastebuds checked. :-) I'd love to find a great tasting white.

Tom. Stupid question, but is that the same variety as Audrey's? Yours look yellow. How did it compare to any other yellow in flavor?

Golden Dwarf Champion
Brandywine Yellow
Lillians Yellow Heirloom
I've never grown the variety Andrey

But I can tell you ...
The "cross" I have, has beat some reds in
terms of flavor ~
