Is this a weed?

I thought this might be a bird delivered strawberry plant, but now I'm not so sure.

It really does look like a strawberry plant! The leaves just look like they're folded up for some reason. Has it bloomed yet?

It hasn't bloomed at all, and it appears to be growing a small stalk like formation in the middle. I'm pretty sure I had a smaller version of the plant last year in the same spot, so it should flower if it is a strawberry plant. I don't know when strawberries naturally flower in my area, but probably soon if ever.

It might be potentilla, a weed that looks similar to strawberry. It is hard for me to tell fro mthe pic, but it looks like there are groupings of more than three leaves which potentilla has. Strawberry's always come in 3's. Also strawberry should of already bloomed. Potentilla will bloom with yellow flowers.

Most strawbs flower during May in WI...fruit in June.

They do say 'any plant in the wrong place' is a weed? I don't believe it's a strawberry, the leaves are too narrow.
You're about to have a good crop of Maples next year. gosh darnoodley nuisance aren't they?

it looks like cinquefoil to me, a wildflower fairly common in ct. there's a common cinquefoil that is small and close to the ground and a rough fruited cinquefoil that is large and grows tall.

Okay, no strawberry's for me then. Fortunately I have a large amount of black raspberry plants that have grown wild along side of my garage, so I get some free fruit this year.

And those dang maples, I should start a nursery! Little trees all over if I wait to long lol.
