Death of a hornworm
Found this little guy in my tomato patch this year. He is close to being done with the parasitic wasps in the cocoons just a few days away from emerging. He was placed back on the tomato to complete his destiny as incubator.

Cris, nice photo. I love the beneficials but hate the hornworms. Birds have to eat too.
These were pulled in two and left for the birds after the photo was taken. There is about 2 days difference in the age of each one. After obcessive removal in 2010, I didn't have a single hornworm in 2011. Did anyone else have much of a problem with them this year? Claud |
