A striped pear

I found striped pear shaped fruits from three plants in the F2 generation of the cross Beduin x Black & Brown Boar. Two are PL, one is RL. I expect these will be dark brown/purple w/ green and gold stripes, but will need to wait a couple weeks to confirm ... and see how they taste.

In my experience, Beduin (Bedouin) has a rich flavor - sweet and spicy. I think this may be a great cross.

I thought Beduin was pretty tasty, but I was after the shorter PL growth habit and pear shaped fruit also. Almost all the F3 progeny have a pear shaped tendency, PL and gs are segregating as expected. I have a couple of striped, PL F3 plants - hopefully they meet or exceed their mid-parent mean on flavor

very nice again! I found the black and brown boar to be very soft before it was even ripe, and even softer after. lots of cracks. hane you had the same experience with this line? Only one for me that soft out of many.

This one, like BBB has a pretty narrow window on when to pick.
