Finally the roof framing
Four years in the planning, three years in the building, and finally the roof framing is up. I have build this bit by bit from the proceeds of the tomato seedlings sales. Of course I had to use some of the money for other gardening things!
Over the four years I have refined my ideas and am very pleased with the result. Hopefully, it will be as good of a greenhouse for growing as it looks. It is 12X16 with the long side facing east. This was dictated by the shop orientation which is on its north side. It has an ICF (insulating concrete form) footing for 2 feet underground, and 12 inches above ground, 12 inches of gravel, and it will have a 4 foot wide cement pathway (for my 600 pound wheelchair and me) a four foot wide brick floor for the racks and the other side will have a permanent planter like my hoop house. That's probably enough info, but I am so excited I could write a book.} Joan, in crazy Reno weather but I am not complaining. Last edited by POAJoan; October 18, 2011 at 06:26 PM. Beautiful greenhouse Joan.
Will you heat the greenhouse in the winter? I bet you are looking forward to having it done. Susan |

That's one very nice greenhouse. I am green with envy! I wish you many happy hours spent puttering in there -- please post some more pictures when you start getting your plants in there.

Joan, I forgot to ask, if you have a chance, could you also post some more pictures showing your hoop house plan? The first picture above shows an intriguing roof support system. Your tomatoes obviously love it there, lots of room!
