pepperocini seeds needed
I am getting ready to start pepper seeds, and just realized that I forgot to order some for canning. Can someone please recomend a pepper for canning ( like the ones sold in the grocery store that say peppperocini, greek peppers) and a source for seeds?

One of the names to look for is Stavros. Remy has them.

I've not grown them yet, but here are some descriptions:
copy from gourmet seeds: "This is the finest heirloom Greek Pepperoncini available. Enjoy the wonderful spicy/sweet flavor that makes these peppers so special. Use the traditional way and pick them young for pickling or grow out for fresh use." And from Remy: "This is a Pepperoncini pepper from Greece. When small and yellow/green, they are picked and pickled. I love pepperoncinis. I actually make sandwiches out of them with nice hearty Italian bread. You can of course let them grow, and use them like and other pepper. They will turn red when fully ripe." |
