What's your experience with Willhite Seed? How's the germination rate? Do you get 500+ tomato seeds (1/16 oz) for $1.50 as listed?

Seed count vs prices on most everything on their catalog is amazing. However there are quite a few negative reviews on garden watchdog.

I'm not sure never used them but I am interested in finding a place to buy large quantities of seed for cheap. Seems Marsha had mentioned a vendor but the name eludes me.

After reading the reviews on Daves Garden http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/95/#b I would say stay away.

I'm interested in Willhite Seed because it seems popular among the Texan growers. Maybe I should ask them directly.

I have always had good success with Willhite. The seed selection is limited but if they have what you are looking for, I think you will be satisfied.

I have had good experiences with Willhite. Excellent germination and more seed than the minimum. I recommend them based on my 2 previous orders.

Originally watermelon seed specialists that have expanded into most everything. I got blackeye pea and spinach seeds from them this July (for a patch 500 sq ft) with no complaint. Germ rates and test dates on the labels

Willhite is a reliable vendor that I have ordered from since 1988. I regularly order seed in bulk from them with no issues of any sort in 27 years. I would order early and allow at least 3 weeks to receive seed.

I appreciate what garden watchdog attempts to do, however, it is heavily weighted in terms of negative reports. People who have bad experiences tend to complain where people with good experiences rarely post a review. This just means you have to look carefully at the size company and volume of packages they ship to determine if they are good or bad. With that said, I agree that Willhite has more negatives than I would like to see. I still would say that I have had zero issues with their seed in 27 years.

They (Willhite) send me seeds every year and they are all good and at a fair price. I will use them again next month.

I buy and use Porter and Improved Porter (less), and a few others. Much of the time I save my own seeds. Then I buy several varities of corn and peas.

Just got Fall 2016 tested seeds. bush beans, snap peas, broccoli, cantaloupe, two kinds spinach, three turnips, some kale and a hybrid tomato. Ordered Tuesday delivered Friday. I was suprised that the broccoli seed is pelleted. TGS does get most of my tomato and pepper seed orders.
