photo problems-cant see them!!!!

I seem to be having a lot of problems viewing some photos on here, most of them I can view ok, but there are several lots of peoples photo's where I just get the small square box with an X in it, how to view those ones- it seems strange that I can view 80% of them ok but the other 20% I cant.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

I've been having a weird problem that I can see photos sometimes:

I KNOW I've seen Tomstrees photos in the message at the top of this page

This time when I logged in, I don't see them. I see the text but no photos, no box with an X in it. Nothing except the text.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.4 and do have a lot of Adblock stuff set, but when I look at that page (as an example) I don't see anything being blocked.

Just curious - it's probably something that I've done globally to try to deter the garbage that I get on "other" forums.

The reason you can't see the photos is because it appears Tom has moved or deleted them. When I view the details of his post, the links are still there, but they resolve to "page not found" when copied and pasted into a browser. So it's not just you.

This is a great example of why I very much prefer people to upload their photos directly to the server, rather than paste a link in their posts. This feature was one of the main reasons Tomatoville® was converted over to VBulletin from phpBB.

It also lessens the workload on the moderators, who often have to go back and delete posts that refer to a dead linked photo within them.

I would really encourage everyone to upload their photos in the future. We have a terabyte (1000 gigabytes) of storage space available here so space is not an issue. I've posted instructions on how to do this as a "sticky" in this forum, but if anyone needs further assistance, please don't be shy about asking for it.

I use IE7 at the moment, but I had a situation last week where on one post in the photo's section I could see half the photo's ok from some posters but could not see some of the photo's from other posters as they all had little squares with an X in them, none of them was mixed either see or not see on the same posters post, it was either all or nothing on individual's posts- if you see what I mean.

Cool, I didn't know we had webspace alloted for photo's.

Just upgraded to OS X. 10.10.5 Yosemite and now I can't see photos on any of the posts that have them. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
