Default Too late for brussel sprouts?

I live in MA,and have six brussel sprout plants that have been in the ground since the last week of April. They just over 2 feet tall now,but not one brussel sprout forming yet.My question is,is it too late with the warmer temps? They are taking up prime real estate in my garden, and I'm thinking of pulling them if they are not going to produce.Any thoughts would be appreciated, this is my first year attempting to grow them.

I’m no BS specialist by any means. But I planted last year’s BS in early spring. I don’t remember when they started to show sprouts but this is what I had in November.

robin,

I think you planted too early. But they should start forming sprouts when the days start getting shorter. Brussel sprouts are a fall crop that don't get sweet until after a few frosts and freezes, often into December where you live. I'm direct sowing brussel sprout seed this weekend and planning to harvest in November - if I can keep them protected from the caterpillars and deer.
