Okra Seed in the freezer????
I usually buy my okra seed new from the local farmers COOP every year. An old man last year gave me several pounds of Clemson Spinless (my fav) seeds he told me to put them up in the freezer and they would be fine. Well ive had them in the freezer since August of last year. What are ya'lls experiences with freezing okra seed? do you think ill get germination? should I oust them to make room for more porkchops? I have done it and it worked out fine.
to tell if you need to toss them, put some in a blue shop cloth or wipe all and keep them soaked for a few days in a warm spot. Just lay them out and fold the cloth over them in a shallow container. You can then tell if they are good or not. They will have little roots on them. This is how I sprout all of my Okra seeds. It speeds things up a LOT. Worth |
