buckets
how close together is everyone putting their buckets? mine are about 28 inches apart. and they are tied together with 2x2's so they don't tip over. I'm planning on trying the rain gutter system next year and 9 or 10 buckets in a row on a 10 foot section seems like too many too close especially with two rows side by side. I was thinking maybe 7 in one row 6 in the other, or 6 and 5. what's every ones thoughts? tom

For big indeterminates, I would leave two or two and a half feet. Otherwise you'll have them growing together and you won't be able to get in there and pick anything, or spray if you have to. Unless you prune them. Just my opinion.

Only you know how bushy and big they grow in your conditions (bucket size, weather, etc). I have like 10-12 inches, but they are pruned.

I prune as well and have them 15" apart.

I grow in the RGGS with 9 buckets/grow bags per 10 foot section, at this density I find it helpful to do some pruning early on. I live in Oklahoma and when the summer heat approachs 90 plus degrees I let the upper branches grow togrther, resulting in a canopy which provides some shading for when the temps hit 100 plus. This works well for me...just my 2 cents worth.
