PNW zone 8a can baby peppers go in green house now?
Hi everyone,
I am wondering if people in the PNW put their baby peppers in the green house now March 28th. We have had some cold nights, but I think they would do better in a green house than inside. Thanks for imput. |

I think if you had a thermometer in there and could check to see what the temps are throughout the night; they may be ok.
Your best bet against the cold is too keep a heater in there to keep the nighttime temps at 55 to 70 degrees. Pepper plants will have later fruit setting (delayed fruit set) when they're in colder temps. Flower Buds may fall off too. ~* Robin

In Anmore our night temps are still below freezing. So I do not leave my pepper seedlings in a GH at night, as my GHs are not heated.
Today we had 38F during the day. Brrrr. Everything has been brought inside, including brassicas - it will be another freezing night... Maricybele, I hope your weather is much warmer than we have here Last year I started to leave pepper seedlings in an unheated GH overnight in late April. Tania
