All of mine went out 2 days ago. Weather.com says we're in for 3 nights of freezing. KING5 and KOMO4 say it'll stay above 42. I tend to believe KING and KOMO over the Weather Channel but, I think I'll cover them just to be safe.

jan, for the life of me I cannot find any online retailers in the States that carry the type of bags I use here in Germany. I buy mine at the gardening center near where I live.
If your plants have cages like mine you can get sheet plastic and wrap around the cage and staple it. Leave the top open so the heat can vent when the sun comes out. Or you can do the same thing with fleece and cover the whole plant as it breathes and won't overheat. Floating row covers are made of fleece and come in rolls of 5x25 feet and you can staple it as well.

Good luck doubleJ, we all feel your pain. I take it nobody was able to talk you down off the roof.

Here comes that Gulf of Alaska weather front we have seen the
last 3 Aprils. It slows things down quite a bit, but on the other hand, it makes us procrastinators look wise. I am still waiting for the vetch in some beds to flower before I mow it and turn it over anyway, so transplanting is not going to happen before then.

Got to 35 last night. Checked this morning and everything is fine. Row covers in place kept everything warm
