I was advised by a local gardener to make sure the cells were really moist & I had more trouble separating those seedlings than from the drier mix as well. BTW - if separating the tomato seedlings gives one the "willies" try starting with a few cells of densely planted basil. Doing the basil (which is awesomely amazingly tolerant of being ripped asunder) makes the tomatoes seem really easy. What a wonderful task for those of us with OC trait!

Craig-remember that rosa's heart had wispy foliage-it definately was not rugose for me. I am currently growing both the red and pink grizzly (they are very small at this time) and Rosa's heart. I will post photos when they get a little bigger.

I agree, Michael. That's one of the things that make choosing the dwarfs out of Nosey difficult. But after a month, the difference is obvious. Right now, my 27 non-dwarf Noseys are all over 5 feet tall, while the dwarfs are only half that. And the foliage of the dwarfs only has a small amount of the rugose trait, not enough to notice except in direct comparison.

I've noticed that the Grizzlies are not particularly rugose either - picking out the F2s was not easy, so that may be what I am seeing. No matter what I will try each of the F3s (pink and red), though the red is much more stocky. Agreed also on picking out the Nosey F2s! I feel pretty confident I have a couple of them, and will just assume what I got from your Rosa seed is a dwarf.
