Default Albersbach Update

For those who don't know that is the name of the small village I live in. Here are updated pictures of my tomato container grow outs and the yard in general. Taken today it has been beautiul weather the last two days. The last picture is the only mater I have planted in the ground at home and has Phlox plants on the left with mint plants beside it and the compost pile behind. It's SunSugar. A few plants have leaf roll due to stress from the weather but are comming out of it nicely. Here we go. Ami

What I want to know is "What is the dog's name?" and "Does he or she bark with a German accent?".

Ted, your village looks very peaceful. Life must be good.

Hey, do they still call you "the Yank"? Nope, they just call me "The Ted".

Dogs name is "Sena" and nobody gets near the fence line when she is in the yard. I brought her back from Crete when I was working at Souda Bay. Life is Good. Ami

Greg, "SANDSTONE". Anywhere from 6" to 12" below the surface. I dug a hole for a doggy poo digester and they said to fill the hole with water to check the drainage and if it drains in 3 hours you are good to go. I think after a week the hole was still half full. As you can see my yard is terraced and where they removed the dirt sandstone is very near the surface. That's why I planted my tree's near the sloping parts of my yard. For me the container route is better. I do have a surrogate garden at work that is a raised bed I have been working on for the last 3 years and have 7 tomato plants there. Ami

Ami, your garden always looks so beautiful! I love your white roses!
Thank you for your remarks about the leaf roll - some of my plants show it, too and I was already thinking about a mistake of mine. clara

Nice pictures and very pretty area. I lived in Salzburg once and often traveled nearby to Müchen and Stuttgart.

Side Note: The Gobstopper & Sungold Select II plants are looking good, thanks.
