Ode to Cherokee Green
Well I've gotta say that Cherokee Green is one fine tasting tomato. My inlaws were in town for a wake and this CG was the hit of all of the matters tasted last night. I'm stilll waiting on the Spears Tenn Green to show some yellowing of the green skin before I pick it. I'd say that Brandywine Sudduth had some serious competiton. KBX was also liked by many.

CG is really a good one and I like it better than ARGG. Very productive too. I grew it last year and it really pumped out the maters.

I've grown maybe 10 large fruited green when ripes and to date Cherokee Green remains my favorite GWR with maybe Green Giant being second.
To me the GWR's have a somewhat spicy, sweet taste that I do love.

Talking about serious BW taste competition, the Gary O'Sena seeds you sent me turned out great! Magnificent taste! BLT worthy! I'm glad you are enjoying the KBX

Nice pics. I'm growing it for the first time. I can't wait to taste a ripe one!

I just tried my first Cherokee Green tomato yesterday, and I'm in love!!! By far the best tomato I have EVER eaten. It's gorgeous to boot. I was thinking about scratching it off my grow list for next year since it only has 6 tomatoes on it, but not now. The taste is spectacular. I've got to try Cherokee Purple next year as well. This is my first year growing tomatoes that were not hybrids. I'm so glad I did. This tomato is quite a gem.

I grew CG 2 years ago as a novelty, not expecting anything from it. I was very pleasantly surprised! It was early and extremely productive and tasted great. I guess I need to grow it again;-)

I'll be planting two next season. That's a pretty big deal since I have very few spots for tomatoes.
