last (good) tomato sandwich of the season
My last 2 Druzbas finally ripened fully, so I ate them with avocado today. They were as good as the midsummer ones, and juicy, but smaller. The nighttime lows have been in the mid to low 30s this week, so the next time I get to the garden I'll check on the last few greenies (on Druzba, Caspian Pink, and Purple Haze F3, as well as a few on Brown Berry and Fox Cherry).

Oh, I envy you! I found a couple of stray Sun Gold vines buried under the lemon basil jungle, and popped the three ripe ones I found quickly into my mouth. It was just enough to make me crave a large summer tomato.
