Default Jeff's Mystery Heart?

Can anyone give me some history and a description of this? I'm growing some this year and it would be good to know what to expect. I really would like to know if it's a moderate plant or a monster. I've looked and can't find any info on it. Thanks.

If you got it from Gleckler's that's the only info I could find as it is not listed in the SSE, Tatianstomatobase or Davesgarden tomato listings. Maybe Adam Gleckler who posts here can help. Ami

Ami, tutt had asked me about it elsewhere and all I could remember was that Jeff had sent me the seeds and for some reason I decided not to grow it.

But if it was one of the varieties that one of us sent to Adam at Glecklers I'll take a look at that thread and see if I can find out who sent it so Tutt can then contact that person b/c Adam didn't know most of the varieties we did send as having grown them before.

Actually I just went to Glecklers and Adam doesn't list it. I don't know if seeds were sent to him and he jusut didn't get them sown or whether they weren't sent. I went through all the color classes at Gleckler's and I didn't see it. There's a Black Mystery one there but my vague memory doesn't tell me that that one was Jeff's Mystery heart and it isn't IDed as a heart either. I seem to remember it was either a pink from what was a red, or the reverse.

And I checked my PM's here as well to see if I could see something from Jeff, but I didn't. Am I correct in remembering that Jeff was once Jay from TX?

I'll take a quick look at the thread here where we were deciding who was going to send what to Adam.

I just went through all 107 posts in the thread where we were deciding on which varieties to send Adam, and no one mentioed Jeff's Mystery Heart.

But Ami, I did see that you donated the Black Mystery seeds.

Carolyn, I got the seed from Adam in 2008-2009 when he first came back. I ordered his assortment pack and it was one that was included. So for sure Adam had it so maybe you can shoot him an e-mail as it's obvious he hasn't seen this thread or he would have responded. Ami

Thank you both for trying to track it down. I got these seeds in the fall of 2008 from wintersown.org. I failed to record what little info the site offered probably because they were a substitute for something else I'd requested. At the time, I wasn't enamored with hearts but have come around to really liking them. I decided to plant this "mystery" before the seeds got any older.

Adam was here last night but perhaps he didn't see this thread so I will send him an e-mail. It must have been one that was sent to him from elsewhere or one that someone here sent without posting in that thread.

I will e-mail Adam.

Tut, doing a twofer here. What description did Trudi give at her site? And I know she lists seeds without growing them herself and even if they turn out to be wrong, b'c they're just sent in by growers as xs seeds and she lists them anyway. I went to her site as asked to by someone and the variety in question was not what it should be. When I asked she said she posts what the sender says and says that she has a disclaimer saying that there's no guarantee on seed purity.

I can tell you they were not from me I have never heard of a tomato called Jeff's Mystery Heart and it was not from any of my seeds I sold last Year those were all seeds that I grew in 2008 from our old seed stock and we never had anything called that. so it should rule me out.

I hope this helps

Adam, I asked you to please look at this thread b'c in post #5 Ami thought he remembered getting the seeds for it from you in a collection that you offered as you can see in his post above.

Thanks for stopping by.

Anything is possible. Adam used regular ziplocks with no company name, just the variety in 2008. It was in sequence with the other seeds I received from Glecklers and so annotated on my spreadsheet. Maybe a loner got mixed up with seeds I received from Glecklers. Ami
