I have this growing for the first time. It is only 2ft. tall, full of blossom trusses, and a few leaves. Will it get much bigger?

I don't know b'c I sprawl my plants. It is determinate and PL and everyone who lists it in the 2010 Yearbook says the same thing.

Glenn Drowns in his Sandhill Preservation catalog/website says it was one of the fastest growing and producing varieties he's seen that he couldn't believe it, or words to that effect. I'm too lazy to go to his website and I loaned his catalog to the husband of the Verizon tech who has finally figured out why many of us on the same DSL line are losing it several times every day, many many times a day. The cables are to be excavated out tomorrow. You know me; Mary is the Verizon tech with 34 years experience, we talked a bit, she said her husband wanted to know more about heirloom veggies, so he came last THursday and stayed several hours. he returns tomorrow.

But I digress.

I offered Moravsky Div in my last two free seed offers here so maybe you got it from me? If so I hope you got what you should which is a det, PL, and it's one of my faves for the 2008 season and still a fave, seeds originally from Andrey in Belarus.

Thanks for clearing that up. It is definatley PL, and the way it is growing is for sure det. I got my seeds from Casey's Heirloom Seeds. Have some waiting to get ripe to try. I am impressed so far.

Ja. I did send seeds to Jeff Casey as well as to Glenn at Sandhill Preservation as well as I think to Mike at Victory Seeds. Normally I'd send them to Linda at TGS as well but she's got a huge backlog of varieties to trial and so we decided this Spring that I'd hold off until she got caught up, if ever. I sent her several from my 2008 season and the only one she was able to get trialed was Orange Minsk, probably b/c I praised it highly, and she loved it and no doubt will be offering it in an upcoming year b'c she has to subcontract out seed production.

I think a lot of folks are going to like Moravsky Div, and I know I'll be looking for your comments when you see how it performs and tastes.

I've got two Moravsky Div plants planted next to a Kimberly plant. I want to see how they compare in terms of earliness of ripening.

Let us know about taste comparisons as well. I like Kimberly, but did not grow it this year. Kimberly will get a bit taller, as I think it is indet.

I'm interested in Moravsky Div compared to Stupice, which remains my gold standard for earliest with decent taste. Kimberly never did well for me (seeds from Victory) plants were smaller and daintier, tomatoes smaller and taste no better than Stupice. Bloody Butcher grew much taller and rangier and produced well, but actually I didn't need that many small tomatoes when my mid-seasons started coming in, so Stupice is just right for me. I only tried Matina one year, and it did not impress me. I'm hoping Moravsky will have a little bit more interesting flavor than the other early PL's.
