Slugs & Strawberries
My son has a small berry patch in the corner of the yard. This year I have been finding more and more teeny slugs getting at his berries.
Any solutions to this problem? I have heard beer in a cup will attract them and they drown. I am scared to put the beer out in fear of having a drunk dog later! lol |

Beer works very effectively.
I'm using it right now to catch the slugs that are decimating the hostas alongside my front walkway. I use shallow pie pans/dishes for best results and set them out at dusk each night. I must have caught a couple of hundred so far this week... they must have good hiding spots during daytime because I never see them out after the sun is up! If you're worried about Rover drinking it, you can use O'Douls, Kaliber or any other brand of non-alcoholic beer.
