Cute! Are they about the same size as JBT? What is the history of Bedouin? Do you know? Is it a Russian tomato too?

I believe its spelled Beduin. Anyway, from reading the SSE year book here it appears to be of Russian origin. BELR BA A - LQ 80 days, compact, indet, Potato Leaf plant with a high yeild of brown-red fruit w/ green shoulders, pear shaped, 80-120 g, very good taste, from Russian SC Gisok (Moscow) Looks good and will definitely try it next year especially if JBT doesn't impress me.

Damon, I think you're right, it is spelled either way, but Beduin is probably the original spelling. However, the plant is PL with some leaves as big as my hand. And it is among the very first to ripen in the garden.

My JBT was tied for third to set fruit this year, behind Stupice and Sun Gold. (It tied with Amish Paste.) The tiny pears are adorable, and its a very vigorous plant. Black from Tula came in 4th, a day after JBT.

Had my first JBT lastnight. It was about 90 percent ripe except the very top shoulders. I was really good, not great/outstanding/excellent but very good. And they may get better from here. I will give it a 8 out of 10 thus far

Hey Damon,

The JBT you gave me must have 50+ tomatoes on it, but none blushing yet. Am picking Bloody Butcher, (your) Early Girl, Danko, (your) German Red Strawberry .... see a trend here?

In about a week, I should harvest my sweetcorn for July 4. Should have more ripe tomatoes by then.

When are you coming over to check out my (your) plants?

Glad you enjoyed it Damon. That seems to be most people's experiences with JBT...really good but not mind-blowing. Mine were by far the best of last year, but we only had about 10 cultivars last year....hoping we have even better blacks this year.
