Unusual Ripe Tomato
The 7th Annual Nashville Tomatofest was outstanding! Similar to the one I attended in Crystal Springs, Mississippi on June 29, the Nashville festival was much larger, and of course the best free music in the country. There were several very nice tomato stands with all sorts of heirlooms and neat things all the way around. It was the first time I ever saw "fried watermelon" slices, but they sure had em. In the South we fry everything, including Twinkies. No kidding.
We had an excellent crowd with lots of interesting people, and I couldn't resist snapping a shot of the most unusual ripe tomato I've ever seen. Obviously the pollination was excellent and I'm assuming it's a cross with "Tennessee Britches." Happy Tomato-ing! [ Thanks again to Feldon Central for the photo hosting service. I'll put a link here to my Flickr tomato page when I get the Nashville pictures posted. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomatodon/sets/

Dust, you Devil you. I've written and deleted three replies. Now I'm trying to remember how many people at the TomatoFest I encouraged to visit Tomatoville!
Here's the link to my Flickr site with tomato pictures. Click on the Nashville link. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomatodon/sets/
