Question for Carolyn...Shannon's tomato
Carolyn, in the Gleckers Seedman thread you mentioned Shannon's - excellent, is the correct spelling.
Did you get a chance to grow it this year? Your thoughts if you did? Most who have grown it like it as it's so flavorful. How do you think it ended uo in the catalog? Thanks, Greg - who is excited to see it out there!!! |

Not Carolyn, but Carol,
I believe I got seed for Shannon's from you too. I now have it listed on my web site too. It made a nice medium large tomato for me. Due to our no-heat summer it was late to ripen for me and we didn't get a whole lot. Unfortunately it was planted a bit late, so none were ready for our tasting day so I don't know if anyone actually sampled it this year. I barely got enough seed to list it. I will be growing more of it this coming year and hopefully will have a better summer. Carol |

And now you know how it ended up in in the Gleckler listings. What Carol and I share is the first four letters of our first names, but she's the one who sent it to Adam last Spring when many of us were contributing seeds to him.

Nope, I just got the seed last spring and grew out all the seed I got, so it wasn't me. I didn't contribute anything to the Glecklers project that I know about.

For some silly reason I thought Greg was asking if I'd been the one who sent it to Adam since he knew he had sent me seeds. Ok, confused no more. Both Carol and Carolyn got seeds for it last Spring, Carol grew it out last summer, Carolyn didn't b'c she didn't have enough room for that one and many more, and it was ________who donated the seeds to Adam.

Thanks Carolyn. I looked back at the other thread and saw that Craig had sent it. I know he is a fan of Shannon's and I'm delighted he sent it to them.
It's one of the best tasting tomatoes I know of and I'm happy that others my try it and give it a chance. It has so many uses from fresh to sauce. It also has had good reviews at Tomatopalooza as well as well as agood comment from Patrina. Thanks again, Greg |
